As the name indicates, this dark blue beauty Verbena Hastata ‘Blue Spires’ is a classic sensation. The long spires of scores of flowers are gorgeous, and the apex full of individually charming blue tiny blooms are magical. These are popular annual summer bedding plants, and the varieties are reasonably sturdy. This Verbena species can produce masses of very tiny flowers on unique architectural flower heads, proven hardy even through most winters in well-drained sunny spots. This became popular as it is readily available, and the blue form of the flower slowly expands as it lead the stems like blushing sparklers. This easily grown plant in average wet soils needs full sun to grow at maximum height and will appear from mid-late summer to late autumn. Blue Spires perfectly pair with ornamental grasses and this sturdy plant does not need betting since it gives a warm summer colour to your garden, thus making an excellent cut flower.
